Thomas Leon Greenwood, 85, of Pinehurst, fun loving husband and father, passed away Tuesday April 4, 2017 at First Health Reid Heart Center  Pinehurst

Tom was born Nov 27, 1931 in Indianapolis IN to the late Thomas Martin and Audrey Elizabeth Greenwood.

Tom is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Smith Greenwood, children Gayle Whitlock of Lake Ridge, VA, Scott Greenwood of Cary and Lynn Edgar of Durham;  five grandchildren Bennett, Andrew and Brooke Whitlock, Jessica Edgar and Nora Yechou and great grandson Hasting.

Tom was an accomplished jazz musician and played the clarinet and saxophone.

Tom and Dot met at graduate school and upon graduation moved to Rochester NY where they remained until retirement.  Tom's early career included Xerox and later he served as the Development Executive for the Genesee Hospital and the YMCA of Greater Rochester.
