CSM Stanley John "Steve" Kuzminski, US Army retired, age 90, of Pinebluff, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday at Bethesda Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. David Hudson. Burial will follow with full military honors at Bethesda Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm and prior to the service from 10:00 - 10:45 in the church fellowship hall.

A native of Portland, CT he was a son of the late Mieceslaw Stanley "Fred" and Marion Pasieka Kuzminski. He joined the US Army in 1944 during WWII, serving on the USS Oklahoma City and also served in the US Navy during Korea and Vietnam. He was a Command Sergeant Major with the 3/319th Field Artillery Battalion of the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He retired in 1970 from the US Army at Ft. Bragg.

He was preceded in death by a brother Anthony Joseph Kuzminski.

Stanley is survived by his wife of 65 years Kathryn Deaton Kuzminski; two daughters, Kathy Riley and husband Jim of Wake Forest, Keilah Goff and husband Chris of Dunn; two sons, David Kuzminski and wife Wendy of Hillsborough, and Daniel Kuzminski and wife Pam of Edmond, OK; brother William Kasprzynski and wife Fran of Duxbury, MA; sister, Barbara K Choate and husband Allen of Bainbridge Island, WA; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
