Ruth Shepherd Sullivan, age 68 of Carthage went home to be with Jesus on Monday, March 19, 2018.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Pastor John Stinnett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A native of Richmond County she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Frances Shepherd.

Ruth was devoted to Jesus and was a witness to all she met. We will never forget to thank God for blessing us with such a wonderful Christian mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert L. Sullivan; brother, Ralph and sister, Lib.

Ruth is survived by her children, Frances Callicutt and husband James, Helen Games and husband John all of Carthage, Kellie Sullivan of FL; sisters, Betty Jean Talley, Bobby Lewis, Faye Lynthacum, Mildred Brady, Alma Banks & Carol Smith; grandchildren, Jordan Rouse, Rachel Callicutt, Sara Games, Ariana Bosworth, Whitney Games, Jesse Games and special granddaughter, Samantha Cockman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to all those that helped take care of mama through this journey: Abbie, Pat, Judy, Debbie, Shirley, Mildred, Sam and our church family at Hall's Memorial. We know that God will surely bless you all. Also to Mary Ann and Cathy who were from Hospice.
