She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Elizabeth Barrett and
brothers, Gaston Barrett, Jr. and Floyd Barrett. Catherine is now reunited
with her family in God's hands.

Catherine was called "Cat" by most that knew her. She was vibrant, spunky
and full of life. Catherine was a friend to many and loved by all that met
her.

Catherine grew up in Carthage, North Carolina and was educated at Pinkney
High School. Catherine accepted Christ at an early age and attended Mt.
Olive A.M.E Zion Church all of her life. She was an usher and dedicated
member of the choir. Catherine lovingly accepted the role of raising and
caring for her late sister's children. She was a source of guidance and
strength to them all of their lives.

Catherine leaves to cherish her loving memories her nieces and nephews,
Gloria Brooks of Carthage, N.C, Joyce McNeil (Eugene) of Rosedale, NY,
Margaret P. Barrett of Raleigh, N.C., Ronnie Barrett of Chula Vista,
California, Donnie Barrett (Brenda) of Raeford, N.C., and Operdella Barrett
of Southern Pines, N.C.; and a host of great and great-great nieces and
nephews as well as many other relatives and friends.

Catherine's favorite hymn is "There's A Storm Out, On the Ocean" by Bishop
Ronald E. Brown. She lived her life believing and professing, "If your
soul is not anchored in Jesus you will surely drift away".
